Grant Robison, spokesperson for the Young Obama Haters, gathered with his organization in downtown Tampa to protest during the week of the RNC | Samantha Battersby, The Minaret
Young Obama Haters gathered in downtown Tampa this week in response to the Republican National Convention. Grant Robison of Idaho was the main spokesperson for the organization and had t-shirts and posters for the campaign, sharing a firm belief that him and his colleagues are trying to bring the silent majority to voice their opinions in public via anti-Obama gear.
Robison believes that there needs to be a start to U.S. administering drug tests for people that “leech” off of hard working Americans. “President Obama ignored the fact of how much oil we have in our country,” Robison said. In his opinion, there will be vehicles that get 75 miles to the gallon within five years.
He expressed how “ridiculous” he thinks Obama is and how Obama has ignored citizens’ values and beliefs. Many onlookers did not react to Robison’s beliefs, but he did received attention from the media, or “flacks” as he described them.
“About an average of 12-15 people per day told me they wanted to shoot me, have the Second Amendment just so they could shoot me and then abolish it,” said Robison. Not many people were on his side but he continued to take a stand.
“Others asked me where my vehicle was so I asked them where their vehicle was. They said they wanted to find out so they could take care of me,” added Robison.
With a Marine Corps upbringing, Robison asserted that he wants to represent his values and beliefs to the greater American community. He stated several times that as an American he holds true to his First and Second Amendment rights. Robison does not feel threatened at all, and firmly believes that Obama has forgotten about the Constitution.
Robison has yet to decide whether he will be attending the Democratic National Convention or not, his decision pending on the amount of protesters that will also be in attendance. As of now he is unsure, but asserted that he will continue to share his beliefs about Obama with the young people of America.

Have none of you heard of feature stories before? To address a couple comments: I would assume that a marine upbringing means…a marine upbringing, ie. an upbringing in a marine family. And I’m sure it was a slow week, with only a national political convention going on. To Young Obama Haters: you’re going to have to back up your claim that Obama has called for 75 mpg vehicles in five years. The administration has pushed for a 50-60 mpg standard…by 2025. And my advice for getting your message out would be to drop your disgusting racially-charged rhetoric of “deporting” Barack Hussein Obama—as the t-shirts for sale on your website read.
Sherbaf has misquoted Grant in a fairly poorly written article. Obama, not Grant thinks there will be 75 mpg vehicles he there is no need to utilize American resources.
And no dd, Young Obama Haters does not know Mr. Sherbaf, however, we do appreciate what little coverage we can get to spread the word and hopefully save our country and our future.
This is horrible! “Marine upbringing”??? Care to elaborate? I can’t believe this even made it past the editors… As others have said- this isn’t even news. Where is Dr. Dan Reimold at?
Slow week at The Minaret…
I agree with dd. It’s just a story about one person and it’s really not that important.
Why is this worth a story? It’s not news, it’s not informative, and there are no facts. Is Mr. Robison a friend of yours or something?
